Dr. Diane Wu is the co-founder and CEO of Trace Genomics. Trace Genomics uses DNA sequencing and machine learning to deliver an accessible microbiome test for farmers, enabling improvements in soil health, nutrition, and sustainability.
Diane received her PhD in Genetics at age 25 from Stanford University. Her thesis, supervised by Nobel laureate Andrew Fire, was published on the cover of Nature Structural Molecular Biology. Diane also holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and joined Palantir Technologies as part of the inaugural data science team dedicated to solving problems in fraud detection, crime prediction, and medical insurance using machine learning. Diane then joined MetaMind (later acquired by Salesforce) during its Seed stage as the first customer-facing engineer to design, build and deploy deep learning models for medical imaging and natural language understanding.
Diane’s mission is to use sequencing technology to digitalize the biological world and leverage artificial intelligence to uncover insights that transform human health and wellness. Diane was selected to the Forbes 30 under 30 – Science list in 2017.
